Ling Xiaoyu from Tekken
My favorite* character in Tekken. I should mention that up until this writing, my only experience in Tekken is from Street Fighter x Tekken, so it’s not like I know a whole lot about the series… yet at least. I did just pick up Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (alliteration much?), so I’ll have one more setting to see her in now.
Anyway, why do I like Xiaoyu? She’s one of the characters I’ve been able to learn halfway decently for starters, and she’s actually a really good fighter. Of course Xiaoyu is cute (is this really a surprise?), and also her outfit is SHINY! In the night time stages her clothes pretty much glow, making it really easy to not get lost in battle. Then there’s that sparkly windmill attack she uses.
Yeah, Xiaoyu is pretty much a Chinese magical girl. Even if she doesn’t actually transform.
*since I first queued this post, things have happened to call this status into question. Stay tuned for more details over the next couple of weeks.
